Dear Beaver Island Golf Course Members, Spring, 2009

To have a golf course on Beaver Island is not possible without the loyal support of our members. In recognition of the tougher economic times, we are keeping our membership fees the same as in 2008: Annual Adult memberships (Jan. lst-Dec.31st) will stay at $480.00, with an additional family member at $330.00. To interest our younger players, we have our annual student membership (ages 12-18) for $225.00. Our driving range memberships are $400.00 for golf course members, $480.00 for non-members, and $200.00 for an additional family member. Our private power cart privileges will stay at $100.00 a season; we now have enclosed storage space available for off-season, and John is offering power cart maintenance, too. The very popular punch card returns, and also our unlimited golf program, $95.00 for seven days. The prompt payment of your membership fees is appreciated, and a reasonable payment plan can be worked out if necessary. Please contact John personally to work out the details.

Our Pro Shop has new embroidered logo shirts for both men and women; John is restocking the cigar humidor; and the driving range buckets are full of balls so everyone can work on their swings. The ladies will have their choice of two leagues: Thursday mornings at 9:00 am, and the new league that meets Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The private Men's league meets Wednesday nights at 5:00 p.m. We are going to continue our popular Sunday couples' tournaments throughout the summer and fall. Without Buck Ridgeway's help, the evening leagues and tournaments would be in a big snarl!

In view of mentoring younger players and uniting the generations, we are starting a "Grandparent Day" program. This will allow members to introduce the sport of golf to their visiting grandchildren. We ask that there be only one grandchild per member to facilitate the learning process. Greens fees will be waived plus there are junior clubs available for rent in the Pro Shop.

The traditional Ladies Tournament, Jerry Sowa Tournament, and Fourth of July Tournament will all be returning. We are going to add more tournaments throughout the season; always check in the Pro Shop for details. The loyal support of our members, their families, and their friends make all of these summer events successful which only enhance the summer fun on Beaver Island. We want everyone to visit our beautiful course, and share the unique experience of friendly, relaxing golf on Beaver Island.

Again, Beaver Island Golf Course Members, thank you for your past support, and we hope to see you on the course in 2009!

Sincerely,
John, Carolyn, and Meg Works
